Tinolang Manok- Filipino Chicken Soup Recipe

Tinolang manok recipe is a well known day to day recipe in Philippines. It is one of the famous filipino soup recipe aside from beef bulalo and sinigang recipe, tinola recipe could be either be cook using chicken or fish. Tinola was very popular because of the unique taste it has, affordability, and easy to prepare. Before when I was a kid, my mother usually cook tinola using native chicken which is more delicious and healthy,. But now ,even though that we use commercial broiler chicken to cook this chicken recipe soup, we have a way to make the soup more flavorful by using chicken seasoning cube to enhance taste. Here is my method of cooking for tinolang manok
Ingredient:
1 kg of chicken, cut into serving pcs and wash3 tbsp minced garlic1 whole onion, sliced3 thumb size gingeh, peel and julienne2 pcs chayote, peeled and cut into serving pcs or raw papaya fruit1 pc chicken seasoning cubevetsinfish sauce /patismalungay or sili leaves2 siling pangsigang3 tbsp cooking oil4 cup of water
Procedure of Cooking for Tinolang Manok Recipe
In a casserole with cooking oil, sautee garlic, onion, and ginger. Pour in chicken meat and add patis. Cover the pot, simmer for 10 minute until the meat start to extract some meat juice. Add water up to the chicken level and bring to boil. Simmer for 15 minute or until the chicken is well done. Include chicken seasoning cubes, sayote or raw papaya, and siling pangsigang and simmer until sayote or papaya tender. Add salt according to your tasteand add vetsin. Lastly include sili or malungay leaves, simmer for few minute until malungay leaves are cooked. Place tinolang manok with patis and sili while it is hot along with hot steamy rice.
