What’s New in Secret Restaurant Recipes
Anne Bernstein
There are literally thousands of recipes floating around out there that are restaurant-famous, but restaurants don’t want to give out.
The reason why is fairly obvious: restaurants don’t just charge for the food, they also charge for the preparation of the food, as well as the overhead expenses like rent, utilities, and equipment. And they work hard to create menus that will keep us coming back for more.
As a teenager, I often experimented with foods to see if I could make it taste like restaurant food. I once spent hours perfecting a Thousand Island Dressing recipe at Denny’s. Denny’s doesn’t disclose its ingredients, so I wanted to figure out how to make it myself. It was a challenge since I didn’t have any real cooking skills to speak of. All I had was my creativity and my palate.
Denny’s later changed the Thousand Island Dressing they serve (and in my opinion, to a less tasty recipe) but guess what? I still have it! Now I know how to make it after spending years working on it. More than 20 years have passed since then, and I actually prefer to make my own Thousand Island Dressing rather than buy it already made.
Once you learn a recipe, it becomes simple to make and always tastes a lot better than anything you purchase pre-made in the grocery store, or even at your favorite restaurant. Why? Because you use fresh ingredients, impress yourself with the ability to create these wonderful recipes, knowing they were developed by world-class chefs! Plus you save a ton of money eating at home.
These days, I don’t have time to spend several hours experimenting with recipes, so having them available in one place is a godsend.
The good news is that cooking with these recipes doesn’t require any research a culinary background, or any fancy gadgets or food items. These recipes are easy to make and use ingredients that can mostly be found in your kitchen. For a few cents per recipe, it’s well worth it to have these available at your fingertips. Pull them out for special occasions. Impress your family and friends. Or keep them on hand for the times you need comfort food but don’t want to go out.
Information just like this will help you discover recipe secrets you’ll love, and also how to cook them in your own kitchen.
